Training livery

We’re dedicated to giving every horse and owner the very best opportunity to succeed, and with many years experience of producing horses on behalf of owners, we offer a professional, comprehensive service, with tailor made programmes for each individual horse.  This page gives you information on our livery services, costs and the care your horse can expect while based with us. Please take a look at our  Training Philosophy to learn more about the work we undertake and the systems we employ.

In order to genuinely benefit horse and owner, we take new horses in for a minimum of three weeks. Alongside our training center, we take in a maximum of 3 training liveries at any one time, ensuring an individual, dedicated programme, for the following requirements:

  • Rehabilitation livery following injury or treatment
  • Schooling livery for young or more established horses
  • Remedial livery for behavioral problems (please note this is dependent on owner commitment, and will normally be a minimum of 6 weeks)
  • Competition livery

When inquiring about training livery for your horse, we take time to discuss what clients hope to achieve, as well as details of the horses current and previous work programme and any problems you are experiencing.
We may recommend an assessment (either at Nine Acres or your own premises) prior to booking in, in order to give you a realistic idea of the timescale and commitment we feel will be needed.
We may also recommend your horse is seen by one of our visiting professionals, in order that they arrive ”ready to go” rather than waiting to be seen once here.
We occasionally have vacancies during term time, but our open dates for training liveries during 2021 are as follows:
March 15th – April 28th 2021
May 27th – June 30th 2021
July 22nd – September 1st 2021

Costs
Our training livery package includes use of a stable with straw bedding, full time turn out,  all daily care, in hand and ridden work as appropriate.
All feed, hay/haylage, additives and alternative bedding is charged at cost, or an agreed diet can be provided by owner.
Wherever possible we encourage owners to make weekly visits, to see the work their horse is doing and ask any questions they may have about the programme we have established.  All horses are sent home with a clear follow up plan for owners, and we are always available for help and advice if you are unsure about anything.

Initial 3 week period £400
£125 / week thereafter.
