Outside of Nine Acres Equestrian, Hazel coaches private clients and is available for behavioural consults, as well as ridden lessons Hazel has a great sense of humour, combined with an ability to quickly assess and relate to students.  She is happy to coach riders of all levels, and considers the desire to improve a far more important attribute in pupils than their current standard or ultimate goal.  With a reassuring and problem solving manner, clients are always progressing their knowledge and technical ability.  Please see our Training Philosophy page to help you decide if we are right for you and your horse.

What you can expect from “Training with Hazel
With a wealth of experience and a logical, harmonious, training system,  Hazel takes pride in helping you produce your horse to work in a confident and beneficial manner, responding to light aids.  Her clients range from nervous first time owners, to established competitive riders as well as those who have found themselves with horses that were not quite what they were expecting!  Her experience and understanding from a more scientific perspective means she will be happy to make recommendations for equine professionals if she feels other input is required before progress can be made, rather than continuing to take money knowing that a plateau has been reached. Hazel believes in building high quality foundations rather than taking short cuts,  and approaches all partnerships with the view that a trainer is only one part of an essential team if horse and rider are to succeed – a good diet, and suitable fittening routine, combined with the skills of a quality farrier, dentist and saddle fitter are all essential if we are to progress.  Please see our Testimonials to learn about some of Hazel’s current clients.
